Each year, Nebraska Soybean promotes bioproducts at the Builders Home and Garden Show. They display everything from grill cleaners and astro turf to candles and cosmetics, with a grand prize giveaway of a couch made from soy-based foam. Our team came up with the idea of painting a mural using soy-based paint from Sherwin Williams. We built anticipation by changing images on their social media pages to show parts of the mural slowly getting colored in before the event. The 12-foot by 6-foot mural design was split into 288 squares with paint by letter color codes. If people painted a square, they received a free Clean Environment cleaning product of their choice, as well as a consumer’s guide to bioproducts.
